You know you want 'em. The digital files, that is.☺ That's why each of my sessions are paired with a Digital Collection, which include a certain number of high-resolution digital images, accompanied by a personal print release. I provide reference prints so you know exactly how each image should look, as well as lab recommendations and printing tips should you choose to handle additional printing yourself.
Session fees begin at $100 and Digital Collections start at $300. À la carte and specialty items are also available to add onto each collection. Please contact me for a detailed rate & product guide.
Portrait & Family Sessions
where
I work on-location and in natural light. Your backyard, a favorite park, even the local ice cream joint --wherever your kids are comfortable and can be themselves.
when
I typically shoot early morning or late afternoon/early evening, avoiding harsh mid-day sun. If you're up for it, the most beautiful light falls in the hour or so after sunrise and before sunset.
who
Portrait sessions are designed for 1-2 children or adults. Family sessions include 3 or more members of the same immediate family.what to bring
• A few of their favorite things: trains, books, a doll or special lovey. Sidewalk chalk or bubbles are always fun! Heirloom quilt or vintage wagon? I'd love to incorporate any of these items.
• Water, and maybe a little snack or special treat, if you're not above bribery (because I'm not☺). Just avoid anything red or orange as it tends to stain the teeth and face.
• A hairbrush, kleenex and wipes are helpful for touch-ups.
Newborn Sessions
when
Newborns are ideally photographed within the first week of life, when they're sleepiest and "scrunchiest". Please contact me well before your little one's arrival -- sessions are penciled in around mom's estimated due date, and firmed up upon baby's birth.
where
I usually photograph right in your home. Depending on the light, I love to utilize the master bedroom, nursery or family room for intimate family captures. I'll also set up shop next to a big picture window or sliding glass door for more traditional baby portraits.
who
Baby, mom & dad. Siblings are welcome to join in for a few family shots. However, when it's time for the sleepy baby portraits, a quiet environment is best, so I do ask that big brothers and sisters be otherwise occupied, perhaps on another level of the home... or at the park with grandpa.☺
how to prepare
• No need to fuss over baby clothes --I photograph newborns in their birthday suits ♥, and will have a few diaper covers with me. I'm a sucker for sentiment, and would love to incorporate any blankets, bonnets, etc. that are special to you. Little hats and simple headbands are always sweet.
• A warm baby = a happy baby. Please crank up your thermostat (as warm as you can tolerate! 80°+ is ideal) to keep them comfy.
• Your hands will most likely be in some close-ups, so make sure your nails look presentable. Mommas: if there's time, have your rings cleaned.☺
• Please keep baby swaddled or in loose-fitting clothes before my arrival, so as not to leave elastic marks on their delicate skin.
• Please do your best to keep your baby awake the hour or two prior to our session. I usually recommend feeding them just after I arrive, as it will take me some time to scope out the light and set a few things up. That said, if our best laid plans go awry, no worries... We're working around their schedule, and I factor in plenty of time for diaper changes, feeding, and snuggling.
{A note on availability}
I am a mom first and photographer second. While I would love to grow my business once my girls are both in school, for now my availability is limited to a few weekdays and one or two Saturdays each month. That said, given advanced notice, I always manage to clear my schedule for a warm and squishy newborn. ♥
