Also a good day to share a couple of my celebratory favorites...
Beer Bread
- 3 c self-rising flour
- 2/3 c sugar
- 1 bottle or can of warm beer (+ 1 cold one to drink, especially if your kids are "helping" in the kitchen☺)
Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients together with wooden spoon. Grease bottom of glass bread pan with butter. Pour in batter, let rest 10 minutes. Bake for 45 minutes.

Mint Chocolate Cake
- 1 box white cake mix
- 8 T creme de methe liqueur, divided
- 8 oz cool whip
- fudge ice cream topping
- crushed mint oreos
