We got a rare pass for this week's I Heart Faces challenge: no human face required. When I saw the "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" theme, my mind went to this shot (p.s. does instantaneously recalling some random image taken almost a year ago perhaps cross the border from "passionate" to a little nutty?? don't answer that.) Anyway, this was last spring, when Molly had just started walking and was intrigued by her shadow. But it takes me back even further, to a conversation I had years ago with a co-worker. I believe I was newly pregnant at the time, and my friend was lamenting that her little girl was growing too fast; so fast that somehow she'd blinked and the dimples on her daughter's hands had disappeared.
Once they hit two, they learn so much so quickly. The big changes are of course obvious-- their vocabulary, sassy personality, an independent streak. But the chubby hand dimples? You have to look for those. I double checked today and confirmed what I thought to be true: Molly's are still there but not as prominent as above, and Charlotte's are just about gone.
Sniff, sniff. Colleen, it's happening.
