Charlotte started her second year of preschool this morning. Does she look a little apprehensive here?...
...a bit reserved here?...
...because she wasn't :)
I know, I know...Where's that quickie front porch shot of the kid w/ the backpack?? Well, it just so happens that Momma's also "back to school" this week with a Natural Light photography class, and I needed a few extra shots for one of my assignments. Luckily, the closer Charlotte gets to 4, the more receptive she is to bribes :) But for all you traditionalists out there, without further adieu...
In class with Miss Jan, the same teacher my brother had 25 years ago!
She did great, and so did Momma (no tears for me this year!)

And a few from yesterday morning's visit to the bus stop to see our little friends off.
On the way home, ready to enjoy our last lazy day of summer...
...After we got in, I turned on Sesame Street for Charlotte while I gave Molly her bottle. The three of us smooshed on one couch cushion, munchkin #1 leaning up against me; #2 snuggled in my lap. I thought of my neighbor wiping tears from her eyes as she put her baby on that school bus just minutes earlier. I've often said that, as a stay-at-home mom, the days are long yet somehow the months are short. It seems that I blinked and those months are turning into years. Blink twice and I'm going to be the mom at the bus stop, where I'm certain the tears I held back today will be flowing freely. But for now, I'll continue to embrace our occasional lazy morning, myself and Molly still in pajamas, Charlotte in a leotard/pettiskirt/tap shoes/wearing a rosary around her neck. I am blessed. ♥
Great post. that last paragraph brought tears to my eyes.
